A unas cuantas horas de que se cumpla un año de la agresión del 14 de junio del 2006 por el gobierno de Ulises Ruiz Ortiz al pueblo de Oaxaca, a unas horas de que salgan a las calles a manifestar su repudio al gobierno de Ulises Ruiz, exigir la libertad de los presos políticos y castigo a los asesinos. Los sicarios de Ulises Ruiz Ortiz y del Presidente Municipal de Santa Lucia del Camino Manuel Martínez Feria amenazan y hostigan a los Periodistas independientes y a integrantes del CIPORFM sobre La calle del Trabajo ha una cuadra de la casa comunitaria ubicada el la calle Emilio carranza 210 del mismo municipio después de haber terminado una entrevista a integrantes de esta organización y se dirigían ha abordar un taxi que los llevara al centro de Oaxaca.

Hechos:

El día 13 de junio de 2007 aproximadamente a las 22:35 horas el periodista independiente Jon Gilber y Diana Itzu Gutiérrez Luna acompañados de Miguel Cruz Moreno, Pedro Barrios y de Arturo Villalobos integrantes del CIPO RFM se dirigían a la Calle de Camino Nacional para abordar un taxi que los trasladara al centro de la ciudad de Oaxaca después de haber terminado una entrevista periodística con la Organización, cuando caminaban sobre la calle de Emilio carranza con esquina del trabajo a una cuadra de la casa comunitaria del CIPO RFM tres sujetos que se encontraban en esa esquina dos de ellos en bicicleta y una a pie empezaron a decir “pinches apos les vamos a meter un pinche balazo por el culo cabrones haber que tan valientes son¨. Una de estas personas vestía playera blanca, otro playera color melón y la ultima una playera color oscura. Cuando ya nos alejábamos hacia la calle de camino nacional hicieron el intento de seguirnos pero apresuramos el paso para salir a la calle principal para hacerle la parada a un Taxi que en ese momento salía por la calle de Juárez solo así pudimos salir del lugar y después nos regreso a la casa comunitaria del CIPO RFM y los periodistas se fueron en el mismo Taxi al centro sobre la avenida Ferrocarril.

Ante estos hechos responsabilizamos al gobierno de Manuel Martínez Ferria y a Ulises Ruiz Ortiz de lo que les pase a los compañeros periodistas y a los integrantes del CIPO RFM en su casa comunitaria y a los ciudadanos de Santa Lucia del Camino quienes participan en el Movimiento de Oaxaca y en la APPO. Y hacemos un llamado de alerta a todas y todos y aque estén pendientes de lo que pase el 14 de junio del 2007 a un año de la represión al pueblo de Oaxaca en su movilización y en sus actividades que tiene programadas en esta semana como es la instalación de las barricadas de cinco de la tarde a nueve de la noche en varias partes donde asesinaron a los compañeros y una de estas es la de la calle de calicanto y avenida Ferrocarril en Santa Lucia del Camino.

ANTECEDENTES

En el marco del conflicto en el ejido Petalcingo por el proyecto de privatización del sistema de agua potable, se entabló una Mesa de Diálogo el pasado 18 de mayo en la ciudad de Yajalón con la presencia de la Subsecretaría de Operación Regional Zona Selva, de la Oficina del Comisionado para la Reconciliación de Comunidades en Conflicto, de la Delegación Regional de la Procuraduría Agraria en Palenque y del presidente municipal de Tila.

Se acordó que el presidente municipal de Tila compareciera ante la Asamblea de Ejidatarios de Petalcingo el pasado viernes 8 de junio para exponer debidamente toda la información relacionada con el proyecto de agua potable, bajo la presencia de las demás autoridades mencionadas en el párrafo anterior.



Sin embargo un día antes, el presidente municipal de Tila, Ing. Juan José Díaz Solórzano, canceló dicho compromiso posponiéndolo para el lunes 11 en el mismo lugar, por lo cual asistieron suplentes de menor nivel.



Por otro lado, durante el fin de semana los priístas del ejido estuvieron convocando a la Asamblea a toda la población del ejido, día y noche con los equipos de voceo que les proporcionó el presidente municipal, mientras que fueron amenazados integrantes del Movimiento de Resistencia Popular del Sureste (MRPS – FNLS).

HECHOS

El día de la asamblea a 11 de junio, desde muy temprano los priístas montaron un retén para impedir que la gente saliera del ejido.

El Comisariado Ejidal intentó realizar la Asamblea de Ejidatarios en el Salón de Actos, dando la información respectiva a través del sonido de la comisaría; mientras los priístas lo bloqueaban con sus diversos equipos de voceo, llamando a toda la población al parque del ejido. Al llegar los funcionarios de gobierno (la mayoría de nivel inferior al acordado) y entrar al Salón de Actos, varios priístas que no eran ejidatarios y por lo tanto no debían entrar a la Asamblea, ingresaron a la fuerza golpeando fuertemente a dos integrantes del MRPS–FNLS: Gonzalo Martínez López y Agustín Pérez Gómez, a quien arrastraron varios metros por el suelo. En ése marco las priístas Blanca Cruz Pérez y Apolinaria Pérez Pérez golpearon a una mujer que creyeron venía con el MRPS–FNLS, pero que en realidad era parte de la Dirección de Obras Públicas del municipio.

La Asamblea no pudo llevarse a cabo por la violencia que desatada ya que los funcionarios decidieron salir del local. Al salir fueron interceptados por grupos de priístas quienes los llevaron a la fuerza hasta el parque del ejido en donde estaba concentrada su gente.

Cabe mencionar que el Ing. Humberto Velasco Andrade, Visitador de la Procuraduría Agraria en Yajalón procedió a dar "nombramiento" a un nuevo Comisariado Ejidal de filiación priísta fuera de una Asamblea Ejidal y sin la Convocatoria respectiva.

Por otra parte, sin tener facultades legales para ello, Reynaldo Gómez Cruz, Primer Regidor de Tila, procedió a "devolverle" el cargo de Agente Municipal a José Cruz Pérez: destituido de dicho cargo mediante un acuerdo con el MRPS–FNLS, antes de tomar por la fuerza la oficina de la Agencia Municipal, sacando violentamente a los integrantes del MRPS–FNLS que cumplían ahí con sus funciones. También tomaron por la fuerza las instalaciones de la Comisaría Ejidal a las que pusieron su cadena y candado al igual que en el Salón de Actos del ejido.

Cabe mencionar que toda esta situación se llevó a cabo bajo la presencia y complacencia del señor Jorge Luis Montejo, operador de la Oficina del Comisionado para la Reconciliación de Comunidades en Conflicto así como del personal dependiente de la Subsecretaría de Operación Regional Selva y de la Delegación de Gobierno en Yajalón.

Deducimos que estos actos no son sino el reflejo del clima de intolerancia promovido por las autoridades municipales, agrarias y el gobierno del estado de Chiapas con el fin de imponer el proyecto de privatización del agua en la región.

Recordamos que es responsabilidad del estado así como de la Oficina del Comisionado para la Reconciliación de Comunidades en Conflicto velar a que no se polarice el tejido social en la región y promover las acciones pacificas de reconciliación y negociación entre las partes opuestas con el objetivo de evitar cualquier tipo de violencia.

Por lo anterior solicitamos

i. Que se garantice la integridad física y psicológica, las garantías al debido proceso y de seguridad jurídica a los ejidatarios de Petalcingo, Municipio de Tila, Chiapas, México, así como de los integrantes del Movimiento de Resistencia Popular del Sureste (MRPS – FNLS).

ii. El cumplimiento de la Ley Agraria en cuanto a las convocatorias y al desarrollo de las Asambleas generales.

iii. Que se informe oficialmente de las acciones tomadas por parte de las autoridades.

iv. El cese de las amenazas de violencia o de cualquier otra forma de intimidación que menoscabe su dignidad humana.

v. De manera general, conformar sus acciones a lo dispuesto por la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos y los Pactos y Convenciones Internacionales sobre Derechos Humanos y referentes a la protección de los Defensores de Derechos Humanos ratificados por México.

Ver.– Integrantes de la Otra Campaña región Totonacapan- Huasteca se pronunciaron en apoyo a los campesinos del grupo Los Dorados de Villa, quienes el 10 de junio recuperaron tierras en el lindero de Lomas del Dorado y Tzocohuite, en la entrada a Zapalote,
municipio de Ixhuatlán de Madero, Veracruz.

En el predio, antes denominado San José el Dorado, los campesinos han fundado un nuevo poblado con el nombre "Diez de Junio". El jueves 14 de junio, en Poza Rica, Veracruz, dieron
una rueda de prensa para manifestar su apoyo a los Dorados de Villa, Héctor Colío, Abelardo Escamilla y Eliseo Macín. En entrevista telefónica, los integrantes de la Otra Totonacapan– Huasteca comentaron: "Los compañeros han decidido permanecer en la tierra," dijo Héctor Colío. "Fueron conminados por el gobierno a desalojar. La asamblea no aceptó
entregar la tierra."
"Hay un ofrecimiento del gobierno del estado, representado por Roberto Alvarez Salgado, que plantea tres puntos: Detener las actuaciones judiciales del gobierno estatal, conminar a los particulares, la familia Faisal, a no tomar acciones represivas en lo particular, porque están armando a gentes allá, pistoleros... La familia Faisal, Marcos y Josefina Faisal (quienes aparecen como propietarios, aunque en los documentos agrarios no aparece la propiedad) están
contratando a policías de Alamo para que, vestidos deciviles, realicen una acción de las que ya conocemos,con pistoleros de la región. Esto se le manifestó al empleado de gobierno y él (Roberto Alvarez Salgado, subdirector de organización, funcionamiento y enlace regional, de la subsecretaría de gobierno veracruzana) dijo que iba a conminarlos" a no actuar violentamente.

De cómo están las cosas en el predio, Héctor Colío informó: "Lo más importante es que el ganado se sacó ya del lugar, se hizo una contabilidad. Los vaqueros sacaron las bombas de aspersión, tuberías y todo lo de valor del área, era una ordeña, donde están los
compañeros."

El desalojo del ganado y enseres fue "con plena
libertad, a nivel de trabajadores y compañeros hay
buen trato. La señora Faisal es quien está haciendo,
en un acto desesperado, la contratación de policías de
otros municipios que vayan de civiles, como
acostumbran. Bueno, esto ya lo sabe el gobierno",
aseguró.
El próximo martes 19 de junio, a las 10 de la mañana, en el predio San José el Dorado, explicó el entrevistado, habrá una mesa de negociación en el predio, donde estarán autoridades agrarias de gobierno. "Van a revisar, pues ya tienen la documentación los enviados de gobierno, ya vieron que los campesinos sí son compañeros con derecho. Ya está un expediente. Pedimos un expediente original, porque en Jalapa no lo quieren abrir. Tiene expediente este
asunto, pero se cerró políticamente. Esperamos que se abra y se vea que hay 660 hectáreas que faltan por entregar."

Por su parte, Abelardo Escamilla, de la Otra Totonacapan Huasteca, dijo que dieron un
"pronunciamiento de apoyo de la Otra Campaña de la región a los compañeros Dorados de Villa, en su recuperación de tierras." También informó que hay en el lugar observadores de derechos humanos, de la Red
Unidos por los Derechos Humanos. Abelardo Escamilla señaló que el derecho asiste a los
campesinos: "Los papeles que tienen los compañeros están en regla. Esperemos que la resolución sea a favor de los compañeros. Se fue primero por los cauces legales. Todo se fue haciendo conforme a la ley. Juntaron los papeles, juntaron todo, pidieron la
dotación de tierras." La respuesta del gobierno veracruzano fue apelar a la
contrarreforma al artículo 27 y el fin del reparto agrario. Héctor Colío comentó que se ha aligerado el hostigamiento de los policías que inicialmente intentaron, sin éxito, intimidar a los campesinos, pero los particulares afectados (Marcos y Josefina Faisal) "están contratando policías de otros municipios y pistoleros". Además, señaló que más gente, campesinos e indígenas de la región, está bajando a apoyar la recuperación de tierras. Pidió a los adherentes a la Otra Campaña que apoyen. Los Dorados de Villa están firmes en no abandonar la
tierra.

Alerta caso La Parota convoca observación civil

ALERTA CIVIL SOBRE EL CASO LA PAROTA

CONVOCATORIA A MISION URGENTE DE OBSERVACION

1. Las organizaciones abajo firmantes, alertamos a las organizaciones, colectivos, movimientos, plataformas, redes y articulaciones nacionales e internacionales sobre la REACTIVACION de una nueva estrategia ilegal e intimidatoria por medio de la cual el gobernador de Guerrero, Zeferino Torreblanca, y el Ejecutivo Federal, a través de la Comisión Federal de Electricidad, buscan imponer a las comunidades indígenas y campesinas de Guerrero el megaproyecto hidroeléctrico la Parota. El conflicto en las últimas semanas ha entrado vertiginosamente en una nueva etapa de riesgo importante por lo que anunciamos una ALERTA NACIONAL alrededor del caso La Parota.

2. El próximo 6 de mayo, ha sido convocada una nueva asamblea agraria en uno de los principales núcleos campesinos que serían afectados por el proyecto. Esta iniciativa gubernamental puede ser considerada una provocación, después de que los campesinos opositores han ganado en los tribunales la anulación de las asambleas que ilegalmente y con severas irregularidades dieron “su anuencia” para la construcción del proyecto. Esta acción se realiza en medio de un clima de tensión provocado por la detención – y posterior liberación- de uno de los dirigentes opositores, con una creciente campaña de propaganda de la Comisión Federal de Electricidad para la aprobación del proyecto y después de 4 años de resistencia de los opositores que ha dejado un saldo de 4 muertos, varios momentos de represión policiaca y un creciente malestar y tensión en las comunidades que serían afectadas por el proyecto. El próximo 6 de mayo, la asamblea agraria convocada determinará el rumbo de esta nueva etapa del conflicto.

3. El Consejo de Ejidos y Comunidades Opositoras a la Parota (CECOP), que ha mantenido la movilización, la resistencia y la defensa legal contra el proyecto nos ha llamado a todas y todos ha impulsar desde ya, el acompañamiento, la solidaridad y la presencia civil en la zona de manera urgente. Todo ello, en medio de un contexto de creciente militarización, reducción de las libertades civiles y represión a movimientos tan importantes como los de Oaxaca o Atenco. Es fundamental, que en el caso de la Parota, impulsemos acciones de PREVENCION y que la sociedad civil, nacional e internacional ponga su atención en Guerrero, en el movimiento opositor y en los riesgos de confrontación e incluso de violencia ante los signos evidentes de la imposición del proyecto, pero también de la movilización y resistencia opositora. La imposición o realización el proyecto hidroeléctrico de la Parota significaría un fuerte revés a los movimientos sociales, además de ser uno de los primeros eslabones en la cadena hacia planes y proyectos como el Plan Puebla Panamá, de importancia geopolítica estratégica.

4. es por ello, que LLAMAMOS de manera urgente a una MISION CIVIL DE OBSERVACION para dicha asamblea. Una misión civil que partirá de la Ciudad de México el sábado 5 de mayo de 2007 para estar presentes en la realización de dicha asamblea, mantener presencia civil en la zona así como ayudar en la documentación y la resonancia nacional e internacional. Invitamos a todas las organizaciones civiles, sociales, populares, sindicales, campesinas, estudiantiles, de derechos humanos, de medios comunitarios y alternativos a INSCRIBIRSE de inmediato en esta MISION de OBSERVACION que se hará presente en la zona del conflicto el próximo fin de semana. Brad Will, 36, a documentary filmmaker and reporter for Indy media in New York, Bolivia and Brazil, died today of a gunshot to the chest when pro-government attackers opened fire on a barricade in the neighborhood of Santa Lucia El Camino, on the outskirts of Oaxaca, Mexico. He died with his video camera in his hands.

Brad went to Oaxaca in early October to document the story that Commercial Media simulators like Rebecca Romero of Associated Press distort instead of report: the story of a people sick and tired of repression and injustice, who take back the government that rightfully is theirs. In that context, his assassination is also a consequence of what happens when independent media must do the work that Big Media fails to do: to tell the truth. My friend and colleague since 1996 when we labored together at 88.7 FM Steal This Radio on New York’s Lower East Side, I bumped into him again in Bolivia in 2004 during a public reception held by the Narco News School of Authentic Journalism, and again on the Yucatán peninsula last January where he came to cover the beginnings of the Zapatista Other Campaign – Brad died to bring the authentic story to the world.

Brad went to Oaxaca in early October knowing, assuming and sharing the risks of reporting the story. His final published article, on October 17, titled “Death in Oaxaca,” reported the assassination of Alejandro García Hernández on the barricades set up by the Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca (APPO, in its Spanish initials). Brad wrote:

“…went walking back from alejandros barricade with a group of supporters who came from an outlying district a half hour away—went walking with angry folk on their way to the morgue—went inside and saw him—havent seen too many bodies in my life—eats you up—a stack of nameless corpes in the corner—about the number who had died—no refrigeration—the smell—they had to open his skull to pull the bullet out—walked back with him and his people

“…and now alejandro waits in the zocalo—like the others at their plantones—hes waiting for an impasse, a change, an exit, a way forward, a way out, a solution—waiting for the earth to shift and open—waiting for november when he can sit with his loved ones on the day of the dead and share food and drink and a song—waiting for the plaza to turn itself over to him and burst—he will only wait until morning but tonight he is waiting for the governor and his lot to never come back—one more death—one more martyr in a dirty war—one more time to cry and hurt—one more time to know power and its ugly head—one more bullet cracks the night—one more night at the barricades—some keep the fires—others curl up and sleep—but all of them are with him as he rests one last night at his watch…”

Last September 26, Brad, on his way to Mexico, wrote me:

“hey al it's brad from nyc—it would be great to get yr narco contacts in oaxaca—i am headed there and want to connect with as many folks as posible—are you in df?—i should be stopping though there and it would be great
to go out for a drink
solid
brad”

Knowing of Brad’s hard luck covering other stories (he had been beaten by police in New York and in Brazil doing this important but dangerous work), his difficulty with the Spanish language, and of the greater risk for independent reporters who haven’t been embedded over time (and thus known by the people) in Oaxaca, I pleaded with him not to go, to instead go to Atenco and report on the story there of the arrival of Zapatista comandantes:

“Our Oaxaca team is firmly embedded. There are a chingo of other internacionales roaming around there looking for the big story, but the situation is very delicate, the APPO doesn’t trust anyone it hasn’t known for years, and they keep telling me not to send newcomers, because the situation is so fucking tense… If you are coming to Mexico, I would much more recommend your hanging around DF-Atenco and reporting that story which is about to begin. The APPO is (understandably) very distrustful of people it doesn’t already know. And we have enough hands on deck there to continue breaking the story. But what is about to happen in Atenco-DF needs more hands on deck.”

Brad replied that same night, undeterred:

“hey thanks for the quick get back—i have a hd professional camera—i have heard reports about the level of distrust in oax and it is disconcerting—i think i will still go—i wont tell them you sent me and i am open to other suggestions on how to spend my time—i dont know what is happening in atenco in the coming days—i may connect with la otra capitulo dos somewhere along the way—great to hear from you—do you have a cell / phone number?

I was not surprised that he decided to go to Oaxaca anyway. Brad had always taken risks: whether riding freight train box cars across the North American plain, or bunkering in his Fifth Street squat in 1996 when police and the wrecking ball invaded, his life had been one of courage. I gave him my cell phone number in case of emergency. He wrote back on October 7, three weeks ago:

“hey al brad here—thanks for the contacts and info—i landed in df feeling
pretty ill and then came straight to oax and am plugged in—if you want to share your contacts down here it would be very helpful—i think I will stay down here for a month—nancy said you had a contact with a human rights lawyer who might help journalists not get deported – please help me with that information as well—i know you are busy and look forward to seeing more of your work

In those emails are the words of a valiant compañero who, knowing full well that this story could be his last, decided to share the risks with the people whose cause he reported.

Also sharing the risks today in Santa Lucia El Camino, Oaxaca was photographer Oswaldo Ramírez of the daily Milenio, wounded by gunfire. It was Milenio reporter Diego Osorio who confirmed the news of Brad’s death at 4:30 this afternoon. He also said that in another corner of the city, outside the state prosecutor’s office, gunmen fired at other APPO members, that three were wounded, and that one schoolteacher is reported dead, but was unable so far to confirm that report.

Brad Will was known and liked throughout the hemisphere, and in its media centers from New York to Sao Paulo to Mexico City. Tonight his body lies in the same Oaxaca morgue he visited and wrote about last week. He will not go silently into the long night of repression that the illegitimate governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, President Vicente Fox and his illegitimate successor Felipe Calderon have created in Oaxaca, and, indeed, in so much of Mexico. It was inevitable that soon an international reporter would join the growing list of the assassinated under the repressive regimes of Mexico (others had already been raped and beaten in Atenco, only to be deported from the country last May). Tonight it was Brad, doing the responsible and urgent work, video camera in hand, of breaking the Commercial Media blockade.

Speaking at a public meeting of the Other Campaign in Buaiscobe, Sonora, when the news came in about Brad’s death, Zapatista Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos, upon receiving a briefing of the day’s events in Oaxaca, told the public and the press:

“We know that they killed at least one person. This person that they killed was from the alternative media that are here with us. He didn’t work for the big television news companies and didn’t receive pay. He is like the people who came here with us on the bus, who are carrying the voices of the people from below so that they would be known. Because we already know that the television news companies and newspapers only concern themselves with governmental affairs. And this person was a compañero of the Other Campaign. He also traveled various parts of the country with us, and he was with us when we were in Yucatán, taking photos and video of what was happening there. And they shot him and he died. It appears that there is another person dead. The government doesn’t want to take responsibility for what happened. Now they tell us that all of the people of Oaxaca are mobilizing. They aren’t afraid. They are mobilizing to take to the streets and protest this injustice. We are issuing a call to all of the Other Campaign at the national level and to compañeros and compañeras in other countries to unite and to demand justice for this dead compañero. We are making this call especially to all of the alternative media, and free media here in Mexico and in all the world.”

Tonight, from the Oaxaca City Morgue, Brad Will shouts “Ya Basta!” – Enough Already! – to the death and suffering imposed (as Brad, a thoughtful and serious anarchist, understood) by an economic system, the capitalist system. His death will be avenged when that system is destroyed. And Brad Will’s ultimate sacrifice exposes the Mexican regime for the brutal authoritarian violence that the Commercial Media hides from the world, and thus speeds the day that justice will come from below and sweep out the regimes of pain and repression that system requires. Brad gave his life tonight so that you and I could know the truth. We owe him to act upon it, and to share the risks that he took. Goodbye, old friend. Your sacrifice will not be in vain.

Update, 10:30 p.m. Oaxaca: The Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca (APPO) has confirmed that schoolteacher Emilio Alfonso Fabián has died from three bullet wounds after an attack by shooters for Ulises Ruiz Ortiz outside the state government palace.

Five months ago in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, the Union of Teachers of section 22^nd started a strike asking for economical and social benefits for the population –all the citizens- of the State.

This Union demanded the immediate resignation of Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, governor of the state because for all the people of Oaxaca he came from a fraudulent election and being repressing all the dissidence since his arising to power.

As the conflict developed, the population of Oaxaca took the teacher’s union demands as their own. They all agreed to demand for the resignation of Ruiz considering him enemy of the people of Oaxaca.

He had several accusations for murdering through his paramilitary and police officers left wing fighters, human rights members, peasants and he also was accused for fraud.

This social organization was named APPO Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca. This bigger organization functioned as government of people according to article 39 of the Mexican Law which says: the people has the right to modify or change it’s government when considering public member harmful elements for the country.

Neither the Federal Government nor the State Government did anything to solve the conflict, or hear the real demands of the people of Oaxaca.

Instead they started a discredit and negative lying campaign at the Media accusing APPO and Union 22^nd of terrorism and that they had taken the city causing economical problems.

The Official Media accused them of not wanting to end this conflict and all over the country we’ve heard this lies and many other more such as to say APPO and the people demanding for the resignation of Ruiz as a sign of good will from the government to end this conflict, was the minority of Oaxaca.

The Media always at the service of Government misinformed the population of Mexico, and also the world, picturing the movement as the bad one’s, as the terrorists, as the intransigent one’s but the Media never really showed the truth happening in Oaxaca.

They never said APPO and Union 22^nd watched for the security of the people of Oaxaca.

They never showed the movement was a legitimate social movement of responsible people from all the State of Oaxaca and that it was also a movement of the majority.

Many civil rights movements, many human rights watchers and Independent Media from the entire world went to Oaxaca moved only by brotherly solidarity feelings and the commitment with truth and Human Rights.

For a very long time now the conflict had rise an impasse and many people feared the solution was going to be like in other social conflicts as recently on May 3^rd and 4^th happened in San Salvador Atenco, State of Mexico violating humans rights.

Today on October 27^th since 9:40 am this morning several individuals approached the barricade on bridge cinco señores (five men) which communicates to El Rosario colony ten minutes away from the center, shooting their guns and threatening those who custody that point, making of the members who’s name is Gerardo to get inside a white sub urban trunk matriculated TJM 6531 and there where accompanied by other individuals on a black jetta car.

Around 15:30 members of APPO where shoot by members of the city hall police customized as civilians and gunmen hired from the government of Oaxaca which are active members of PRI (Revolutionary Intuitional Party) and headed by the city hall president, as well as syndicates and other representatives.

At the same time this events where extended to barricades of La experimental and the one in Calicanto, close to Santa Lucía del Camino, a small town close to the city, where also attacked and shot by police men and gunmen dressed up as civilians.

This aggression caused the death by a gun shot on the chest Brad Will, New York Documentary Filmmaker and Indymedia Reporter, also the Mexican fotographer from Milenio Diary, Oswaldo Ramírez who has injured with a gun shot on the foot.

In this repressive act where also wounded Juan Carlos Lopez and Rene Ramirez Sanchez.. One of the agressors dressed on red shirt and blue trousers has being identified as Juan Carlos Sumano and other as Pedro Carmona both city hall police men of Santa Lucía del Camino.

At 17:30 city hall and municipal police men undercover as civilians, leaded by Pablo Jimenez municipal president of Santa María Coyotepec, shot and threatened the teachers who where guarding the official house, provoking fights with the people from Oaxaca. In this event the teacher Emilio Alonzo Fabián was killed by three gun shoots one of them on the head. Also reporters from Radio Universidad -UNAM University- where shot by police officers, dressed as civilians.

Several members of Union 22^nd where imprisoned and are injured at the municipal jail without medical attention.

By the time this report was sent –around 11:30 of this night- the prosecution of members of APPO continued at the mountains near the city.

At 18:30 gangsters hired by Ulises Ruiz Ortiz harmed three people with knives in Jardines colony.

The Safety Commission of APPO reports that by this moment there are about 16 persons injured and two people killed and several members and civil rights fighters missing.

Press members from APPO reports also in this conflict 13 people have being killed and a paramilitary operative is taking place now in the city, so called the death squad which consists in sub urban Lobo trucks and motorcycles roam around the city striking with death and terror to the civilian population of Oaxaca.

With all this information confirmed, we, the members of Rincón Rupestre Colective and adherents to La Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona, launched by the Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional manifest our most extreme protest against this criminal and fascist actions that once again show us the negative from corrupted governments of Mexico to the right of the people for governing differently and more fairly to arise the dignity, freedom and the conditions for a good life with justice and real democracy. A life where the right to self determination would possible, as APPO has shown.

The pyramidal, global capitalist policies which terrorizes and imposes, exploits, excludes, leaves out and dispossess the most fragile people from their goods as land and natural resources, throughout Free Trade Agreements, monophonically projects for global development which are no other than an excessive robbery and dispossession of the countries of Mexico, and the world. With the complicity of servile Mexican governments which had allowed all these actions.

All these terrorist actions such as Mexico in the 1968 year, the Halconazo in 1971, Acteal, El Charco, El Bosque, Pasta de Conchos, Lázaro Cárdenas, Atenco and now Oaxaca are an evidence of the systematic violation of Human Rights in México of the imposition of the capitalist, global and destructive policy against the people. All these crimes have no responsible author, nobody has being punished for any of these actions against humanity where has being a blood bath from the innocent and not from criminals, nor terrorists. When is this going to stop? Where do they want to drag us to? When this impunity is going to stop for real and the criminals be punished?

We know the Mexican Government is going to deny the are involved in this events and is going to manage the information with the corrupted Mass Media as if this slaughter has being an intra communitarian conflict that is the reason for dressing army members as civilians.

Therefore, we call the civilians of the world, democratic and popular organizations, independent collectives, and all the people who have a consciousness to sum their efforts to stop these criminal actions and never allow another massacre in the history of our country or the world

We demand immediately the cease of fire against APPO, Union 22^nd and members of the state of Oaxaca.

We make responsible the three levels of government in México, the Congress for not wanting to solve the conflict when they had the chance in a peaceful and fair way.

We blame directly all the repressive corporations as well as the paramilitary members of PRI for the repression against the people of Oaxaca occurred on October 27^th 2006.

From this small place from our nation we want to tell you today that if you want to

finish our dreams you will have to kill us all one by one. We will not let the corrupted

assassin governments get away with all these crimes.

We also demand from the Human Rights Organizations to take action on these events so

no repressive government would be unpunished.

We specifically invite American human rights organizations and members not to permit

that the assassination of an internationalist, committed with truth American journalist as

Brad Will to be forgotten nor forgiven.
